Processing Times

All standard orders are processed within 3–5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email.
You’ll receive another notification when your order has shipped.

If we are experiencing a high volume of orders or carrier delays, shipments may take longer than expected. We’ll contact you directly if there are any significant changes to your estimated delivery time.

 

Custom Board Lead Times

Custom CAVU boards are built to your exact specifications. Because each one is handcrafted, production timelines vary depending on design complexity, material availability, and workshop capacity.

Typical build time is approximately 90 days, but this estimate is not guaranteed and may change without notice.
We’ll provide updates throughout the build process and notify you when your board is ready for shipment.

Custom boards begin production shortly after your order is placed and therefore cannot be canceled once materials have been ordered or shaping has begun.

 

Custom Packaging

Every surfboard requires a custom protective box or crate to ensure safe transport via freight carrier.
Once your board is finished, our team will build a custom shipping container to fit your board’s exact dimensions.

Please note that this packaging process may add several additional business days before the standard processing time begins.
You’ll receive a notification once your board is packaged and ready for carrier pickup.

 

Shipping Methods

Because surfboards are oversized and fragile, they ship via motor freight rather than standard parcel services.
We work with trusted freight carriers who specialize in handling large sporting goods and watercraft.

At checkout, you’ll see available shipping options for your area.
Delivery times typically range from 5–10 business days once the board has shipped.

 

Freight Delivery Details

  • Freight shipments are delivered curbside (the driver will not bring the board inside).

  • The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment once your board arrives at your local terminal.

  • Someone 18 years or older must be present to inspect and sign for the delivery.

When your board arrives:

  1. Inspect the packaging carefully before signing the delivery receipt.

  2. If you see any visible damage (even small dents, crushed corners, or holes), note it clearly on the delivery receipt and take photos.

  3. If hidden damage is found after unpacking, contact us within 48 hours with photos at contact@cavuboards.com

This inspection process is required for us to file a claim and to repair, replace, or refund your board.

 

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and product size.
We occasionally offer flat-rate or promotional shipping, which will be clearly displayed on our site.

At this time, we ship within the continental United States.
For shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations, please contact us at contact@cavuboards.com for a custom freight quote.

 

International Shipments & Customs Duties

For international orders, customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the customer.
These charges are not included in our prices or shipping costs and are assessed by your local customs office upon import.

CAVU Boards is not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance or refusal to pay import fees.
Please check with your country’s customs authority for details about applicable duties and taxes before placing your order.

 

Order Tracking

Once your board ships, we’ll send you a tracking number and carrier contact information so you can monitor your shipment or schedule delivery directly with the carrier.

 

Lost or Delayed Shipments

While rare, freight delays can occur due to weather or logistics issues.
If your shipment appears delayed beyond its expected delivery window, contact us and we’ll coordinate with the carrier to locate and update you on your order status.
